Did I burn down the joint? I don't think so...
Carrie grants the user access to burning enemies and settings things on fire, it has some niche uses too, but is usually picked for its ability to Debuff gunners and bladers. It is incompatible with Chiller.
Location
Carrie is located in the Open Prairie, to the far south of the zone on the "Fire Pit" tile. On the Open Prairie map, the correct tile is at grid reference M05.
Effects
Passive: +1 Focus Passive: Do not need lighters to light cigarettes, etc. burn <target> command: Use Focus to set opponents alight, costing stress. Has a moderate cooldown time. cook <thing> command: Cook raw meat to prevent food poisoning, costing no stress.
Advantages
- +1 Focus - This is a small bonus that assists the main ability of the mutation, this is especially helpful for Focus builds that require a lot of Focus total.
- Convenience. Carrie mutants do not need to carry lighters to light cigarettes and molotovs, and they can cook raw meat to make it slightly more nutritious and less stressful. This is convenient.
- Fire Debuff - Setting opponents on fire debuffs their cool, which is really only useful against bladers, gunners and focus users that get stressed when they use their abilities (unless they're a Hideous Freak). The maximum debuff is -10 Cool, fire causes damage over time (if target is Firewalker very high burn stacks are needed, and Solar Sponge completely shuts out immolation damage) and debuffs/slows people down with separate heat debuff (which takes a couple heartbeats to set in).
Disadvantages
- Possible mental gain - Using burn has a chance of causing a mental to the user. This chance is lowered if the user has Solar Sponge.
- Not that useful? In Hell, burn status used to debuff tohit (-2.5 for melee and -5 for gunners at max stacks), which was infinitely more useful and less niche, whereas here it's just a Cool debuff.
Appearance
No change to appearance.
